Low Emission Zones
Around the world cities produce 80% of CO2 emissions.
The significant pollution that is caused from a high proportion of vehicles in small areas leads to an estimated 348,000 premature deaths every year in Europe. This is the reason behind the Low Emission Zones initiative.
There are a number of factors that affect the level of pollution identified in our cities:
The number of vehicles within a given space
The amount of space for emission dispersal
The level of emissions each vehicle produces
How well each vehicle is looked after
The amount of time vehicles are stationary in a given space
These are just a few examples as to the level of analysis that is required to identify not only the causes of high pollution and affected areas but also potential solutions to reducing these levels. Being able to identify information regarding the number of vehicles, emission levels per vehicle type, age of vehicle, traffic congestion at given times and days, provides invaluable raw data from which guidelines and plans can be drawn to support the reduction of emissions. This information and more is provided by the use of innovative technology including intelligent ANPR cameras.
Leading ANPR cameras like the MAV IQ and IQX ranges are increasingly being used to gather information regarding vehicle types and driving behaviours which allows for guidelines to be drawn around the most heavily affected areas. This is where the designation for Low Emission Zones appear and how they can be monitored to ensure drivers adhere to the guidelines as well as track the changes in pollution levels. These can then be cross referenced with earlier figures to identify levels of change as well as further measures to support continuing success.
ANPR cameras play a pivotal role in the identification of affected areas as well as monitoring guidelines and changes with LEZ’s. Much like the IQ and IQX ranges, these ANPR cameras need the intelligence and sophistication to support such objectives due to the demand for more than just data capture but further analytical measures. MAV have been able to support a number of such projects through the provision of leading intelligent ANPR cameras that provide the functionality, performance and accuracy that is paramount for success.
Supporting a wide range of sectors for many years
MAV have been supporting a wide range of sectors for many years and are able to meet the needs of varying solutions through the provision of bespoke products. Being able to seamlessly fit into existing systems or provide a full solution from the start, has led to a provision of ANPR technology across multiple sectors throughout the world.
Smart cities are not just our future but a very much the present. As such, MAV support governments throughout the world with the provision of superior Intelligent ANPR cameras that are re-defining traffic management. The concept of smart cities is to provide real-time information to transport departments and commuters which enables the reduction of traffic delays and reduces risks to the thousands of commuters on the roads and other forms of transport every day. ANPR cameras are integral to the success of these traffic management systems and, as with everything, the highest quality camera is needed to provide the highest quality results. This is why MAV’s range of Intelligent ANPR Cameras have been chosen over the leading competitors in many countries; quality counts for everything.
Learn moreEfficient Parking Management relies upon the seamless integration of superior ANPR technology to ensure the highest performance, accuracy and functionality. The IQ and IQX high specification intelligent ANPR camera ranges provide all parking management users with these benefits as standard but offer further flexibility, reliability and productivity through the combination of specialist experience, quality control and continual product evaluation and advancement.
Learn moreMAV systems have been supporting Police Forces worldwide in the use of ANPR technology for more than 15 years. Such longevity has only been possible because of our unique understanding of Police requirements as well as the delivery of superior ANPR cameras that offer excellence in quality, performance, functionality, accuracy and flexibility.
Learn moreGovernment authorities have the responsibility to enforce measures that protect drivers, pedestrians and support efficient transport networks. As part of these responsibilities they require ANPR technological support in identifying drivers that jeopardise safety and cause obstructions to transport pathways. These enforcement measures have been specifically identified for Bus Lane infringements, Red Light violations and Box Junction infringements.
