MAV Systems Ltd (MAV), one of the world’s foremost suppliers of professional ANPR cameras, is pleased to announce that it has have been acquired by The Traffic Group Ltd (TTG) to facilitate the next major step in their continued growth and market expansion plans. TTG is a privately-owned group of traffic-focussed companies who share MAV’s innovative technical approach and a complementary customer base. The shared markets, ambition and ethics of MAV and TTG were critical factors in the decision by both parties to join together.
One TTG company, AGD Systems, is already working with MAV in the supply of its radar products to work alongside IQ intelligent ANPR cameras under the Safe-Speed brand. MAV are soon to launch its combined ANPR and air quality/emissions AQ sensors that can work independently or as part of AGD’s roadside-based technologies for monitoring and real-world traffic analysis applications.
MAV has achieved excellent growth within the ITS, Parking, Policing and Enforcement markets in the UK and internationally, and the TTG network of international channels in over 60 countries will provide additional routes to market. MAV’s existing international partners will in turn benefit from a wider product portfolio from other TTG companies and have opportunities to cross-sell their unique market solutions into other regions.
The MAV roadmap for 2018 and beyond remains concentrated on the launch of new ANPR based products that offer new features to its integration partners. As a product designer and manufacturer, MAV works with partners who can system-engineer and deploy the whole end-user solution. Commonly this will use the MAV IQ intelligent cameras as a core building block and edge-based intelligent sensor hub. This portfolio is now augmented by speed and distance measurement technologies that open new ITS and Enforcement opportunities worldwide.
Steve Walker, co-founder and Managing Director of MAV commented that “in joining forces with TTG we are already seeing opportunities to develop enhanced products for all our customers beyond those we originally foresaw. The depth of technical and market experience we now jointly possess is truly world-class and inspirational.”
Mike Hutchinson, Chairman of The Traffic Group added that “the quality of the existing management team and their commitment to remain with the business for the long term was fundamental to our decision to acquire MAV. We are delighted to welcome the skills and capabilities that MAV bring into the group and to be in a position to offer our combined customers a wider range of the highest quality products for the traffic-based market.”
